Understanding one’s body doesn’t come easy.
As I was listenting to an episode of the podcast Reconectat, where my friend Silvia Niculae had a conversation with her mother and professional dancer Valentina de Piante, the idea of creating a short comic on the topic of the body and the mother daughter relationship emerged.

With a poetic monologue and a simple drawing, the project was apreciated by the jury of the contest Jeunes Talents of the FIBD - Angoulême, who awarded it the second prize.

Des fleurs, des filles ou des garçons2022
Bahcelor’s project at HEAD, Genève

Comic book that I made for my Bachelor’s project at HEAD, Genève.
Des fleurs, des filles ou des garçons talks about human interactions, discovered through dating apps. Alternating between fragments of dates and childhood memories, the story presents a personal and sociological inquest about the construction of an identity.

The project was awarded the Prix Töpffer de la Jeune Bande Dessinée 2022.

Cache-cache2022
Fumetto Festival

During her workshop in Luzern, Dominique Goblet asked is what are our feelings and memories when we think of mountains :
When the Ukraine war starded I rushed to call my parents to ask them what would they do in the worst case scenario. Surprinsingly calm, my mom told me : Don’t worry it’s not going to happen. And even if it does, we can always hide into the mountains.
With this discussion in mind, I imagined a sotry that combines comics and illustrated landscapes, where the calm of the mountains and of the parents, contrasts the tension of the daughter and of the subject of the phone call.
